Yesterday afternoon it started raining again, and Stella begged to put on her boots so she could go splash in the puddles. Harvey followed shortly behind. 🙂 They ended up playing with the sand in the horse shoe pits – WHILE it continued to rain on them. They didn’t seem to mind!
Just after they came back inside, we looked outside to see a gorgeous double rainbow (which are oddly fairly common out here for some reason). I went out front to get a picture and realized that it looked like the pot of gold was in OUR back yard. I’m pretty sure that’s our kids. <3
Wow – so beautiful! Colorado is one of my family’s vacation spots and we try to get out there at least every 2 years or so. And you’re right, it’s not at all unusual to see double-rainbows like that. Something about the atmosphere and moisture as it rises over the mountains or something (someone explained it to me once but I forget exactly). Love it!
Perfect! If you could go back in time and share this photo with your former heartbroken self and give a hug. 🙂
I’ve never seen a rainbow so vivid.
I have only seen one double rainbow in my life, and it was just a few months ago. It was incredible – it was actually a double double – I could see two full rainbows at two different levels. Of course by the time I got the camera out it was too late 🙁 SO cool that you get to see them all the time, and how neat that the pot of gold was at your house!!!
That is a gorgeous picture! Whenever I see a rainbow, I think it’s a sign from my mom. 🙂 I’m sad to say I haven’t seen one in quite a while though…
Ethan is totally confused by rain, we just don’t get enough so it is new to him every time it rains! Glad your kids enjoy it.
