Choose Your Hard

ChooseYourHard

So a few of you may know that my Mom is on a fantastic weight loss & fitness journey, and she is continually my inspiration for the dedication to make the small choices that add up to big results throughout the process. I don’t think she’ll mind me sharing that she is down 66.9# and counting, simply by doing manageable lifestyle changes that include eating less & moving more. She has also been doing my PiYo/Running Challenge for the past month to switch things up!

At any rate, she writes a weekly email to me and my sisters and a few close friends to help keep herself accountable, and I so look forward to reading her words each week about her journey. Last summer she had a week where she had simply maintained instead of losing, and she was a bit frustrated with the process. One of my sisters had this to say in response, and it has stuck with me ever since:

I look forward to and am honored to share in your journey. Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Maintaining weight is hard. Choose your hard!! 🙂

CHOOSE. YOUR. HARD.

As I’ve been dedicating myself more and more to this journey to being the healthiest, hottest, happiest version of myself, I find myself continually returning to these words and finding more and more resolve and dedication from deep within my soul. Thanks for the inspiration, sis!

Did the coach sister write this? It sounds like a coach thing 🙂 It’s perfect! And way to go, Stella and Harvey’s grandma!

    1. Ha, it does sound like something Audrey would say, but no, it was Augusta, my sister who is a nurse who just had the baby last week!

  3. Love this!
I also like the quote “nothing tastes as good as healthy feels!”
I just hit my goal weight (down 18#)! And it feels so good!!!! Now just to maintain.
    good luck to you!!!!!

    1. Good for you! Congrats! I live that quote too… A favorite!

  4. Love this. I need to choose a new hard now that vacation is over. I want to start 2016 off on a great foot, rather than feeling like I desperately need a New Year’s Resolution, you know? I’d love for my resolution to be something like, “Keep up the good work!”
