Marriage is tough on so many levels, and I think once you have kids it tends to get even tougher for most people. Charlie and I have been in a decent place lately, but we still struggle with feeling like we’re growing apart sometimes. Busy lives get in the way of togetherness & romance and all that.
Neither of us are big into Halloween usually, but the little town we live in is CRAZY about the dang holiday, so last weekend we decided to just go for it and make it a big event we could do together. On Friday we took a day trip together to the town about 100 miles north of us that has a great Halloween store, and we picked up outfits for him and my brother and myself. On Saturday we started at a kid-friendly party at 4pm, went trick-or-treating with the kids, dropped them off at our house with my in-laws, and then went out dancing on the town with friends until after the carriage turned back into a pumpkin.
That night out with my hubby was SO needed…

So great that you two got to go out and enjoy the night together!! You look fantastic! Your bro and Charlie look hilarious… and those kids are adoooorable! So fun and a great reminder to all of us to do more like this. A and I are trying to add more date nights but they easily get pushed aside when other plans come up :/

Marriage is absolutely always a work in progress. You can never expect to do nothing and it is going to be ok and throw kids into the mix……I love the outfits you look amazing!
