Updates

I hope to write a well thought out post soon, but in the meantime, here are some updates on my insane life lately!

*The show last week went SO well. My hair was crazy, the show was crazy, my husband decided at the last minute to come support me, and it was awesome. It resulted in a severe lack of sleep for me, but it was totally worth it in the end. What a scene!

So happy he came. <3

All dolled up!

Big hair don’t care! LOL. This is my friend who is a total dancer and choreographer, and she’s the one who talked me into doing this show. She is a total nut, but I love her!

*My friend from last week is still pregnant. They were thankfully able to stop her contractions with a mix of IV fluids and anti-nausea drugs. However,  that same friend fell in her house two nights later while getting up to pee in the middle of the night and severely sprained BOTH of her ankles, so she had her 2nd ER trip of the week and is now on crutches… with a 2 year old… and 28 weeks pregnant. Poor thing. 🙁 Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers.

*Another good friend of mine had her baby on Sunday morning after a LONG early labor (two full days and nights of serious contractions every 3-7 minutes). Unfortunately, the final part went so quickly that her little guy had a pneumothorax (basically he gasped too hard when he came out causing a small tear in his lung and resulting in air in his chest cavity), so he spent the first couple days of his life in the nursery on oxygen having all stats monitored. Thankfully he was able to go home yesterday afternoon, but it was super stressful for my friend who also has a 2 and nearly 4 year old at home. I ran up on my lunch break on Monday to the hospital just to get some quick baby snuggles in myself. 😉

*Yesterday marked 2 years since Jaime died. It’s such a bittersweet day to commemorate. My mother-in-law sent me a link to an article entitled”Don’t Get On the Anniversary Train,” and it really resonated with me. “Healing only lives in celebrating the lives of the ones we have lost, not how they died.” I spent the day thinking about Jaime for sure, talking about her from time-t0-time, and crying just a few times, but overall it was a day I spent celebrating life instead of mourning life lost. Like I said, bittersweet.

Jaime and myself with baby Stella. This seems like a lifetime ago…

*16 years ago I met a girl in my freshman dorm and we became best friends almost immediately. We’ve had our ups and downs over the years, including about 6 years ago when we had a huge falling out after I wrote a post on this blog that is the only post I’ve ever since deleted because it hurt someone I loved dearly, but I’m happy to say that we have worked through our issues and it has been SO fantastic to reconnect. She and her daughter were in town for the past week visiting, and it was surreal to watch our daughters play together. It was the first time they’ve met (they are 5 and 4) and it was like watching mini-versions of ourselves just instantly connect and love each other. Life is so cool.

*I am so ready for my life to go back to “normal” – though I’m not sure what that is exactly. Every single night we have things going on, and I.am.exhausted. I’m thinking next Monday will be the day my life slows down a bit… hopefully. I hope life is going well for all of you!

  2. You are so adorable. Love these pictures. Sorry for your loss and I can see the wisdom in not getting on the anniversary train. Xo

I’m glad Charlie went ❤️ I hope you feel less exhausted soon, though I don’t see you as someone who wants less activity in her life 🙂

  4. Mad respect to you for stepping outside of your comfort zone!!!
