Refocused

I posted the blurb below on my Facebook page yesterday, but thought I should post it here as well. I’ve been pretty slack in blogging lately, but I am here and reading as much as I can. Just working on my marriage and my family and my health. Hoping to get back to writing more soon! I’m doing an 8 week running & PiYo challenge again starting May 2nd, and I’ll be posting a lot more here at that point to help keep myself accountable. Let me know if you’re interested in joining me. 🙂

*****

I started off my day with a quick 30 minute workout at home (21 Day Fix Lower Extreme – man I love my Beachbody workouts!) and then a solo 3 mile run with my music and my thoughts. 2 weeks from today I’m going to Hawaii, 15 weeks from today I’m running a half marathon, and just over 40 weeks from today I turn 35. Honestly? I’m tired of not reaching my goals. 18 months ago I had a 9 month old baby, weighed 15# less than I do now, and I was in way better shape. It’s time to put my health on the front burner again. Summer is coming, I live in a beautiful place where I can choose from a plethora of healthy activities to participate in, and I have amazing friends who encourage and support me. Basically, I have all the tools at my fingertips to make this happen. It’s time. ‪#‎chooseyourhard‬ ‪#‎lifestylechange‬ ‪#‎fitmom‬ ‪#‎fitcommunity‬‪#‎running‬ ‪#‎beachbody‬

See that grey front tooth? I finally get my final crown on Wednesday (9 months after Harvey busted my real one at church). I can’t wait!

I took this photo to motivate me on the days I don’t want to stick to this. I can do this.

Bye bye baby belly.

At least I live in a pretty place to run. 🙂

  1. YOU HAVE GOT THIS!! I KNOW you do! You are so determined and I know you want to do this!! I’m here if you need support, motivation, someone to vent to, etc.!! xoxoxo

    1. Thanks, Blake!

  2. I agree, you’ve totally got this. And DANG GIRL, I need to move there right now! I cannot imagine looking at that beauty every day. I pretty much walk outside to a busy street and a sidewalk full of chicken bones and other choice trash. I’m torn because we can walk pretty much everywhere, and there are so many cool museums and blah, blah, blah for Lettie to explore, but like I can’t with the ugliness sometimes. As much as I love the city, I totally feel my most at peace in nature. Anyway, sorry, MAJOR TANGENT! But you sure do live in a gorgeous area.

    1. Yeah, I miss the city sometimes, but it’s nice to visit it and then get to come back home to this. 😉 Where do you live?

      1. I live in Philadelphia. 🙂

  3. You can do this! We all start somewhere, and there’s now where to go but up!!!! All you need to say on the evening of July 23rd is that you did it. No one cares how long it will take, no one cares where you will rank (I used to always fear coming in last in my age division… It never happened and no one would have cared had it happened!). All anyone else cares about is that you do it! 😉

    Go get ’em!

Thank you for your honesty and “baby belly” pics. I know a LOT of beach body people on fb, and the ones that are actually motivating to me are not the top coaches with a thousand likes and perfect physiques; it’s the ones who are real and honest and talk about not wanting to do it but trying anyway.

  5. Wow. I cannot imagine have those views for running!!!!! Gorgeous!

I have found running is the only time my mind is truly clear (and i do yoga but it doesnt work there).

Good for you for adding a new facet to your workouts. I am super competitive (even with myself) and i get frustrated that i am not fast but i try to focus on quantity of miles and time that i run rather than the two combined.
