WWW – The 20# Plan

169#

HFS. I’ve hit and have been hanging out at my line in the sand.

weight

My very first blog post here was written & posted in November of 2009, and I wrote about being up to 170# (the highest weight of my non-pregnant life, those are the big peaks above) and being freaked out about that.

Well. Hahahahaha.

Nearly 7 years and 2 kids later, I’ve successfully let myself get back up to that point after getting down as low as 151# in June of 2010.

Here’s the thing – last time I truly dedicated myself to this, in 6 months I was down 20# after a true lifestyle change, and I was feeling awesome about myself.

It’s time to do that again. I know I know, you’ve seen me write this off and on over the years, but sometimes it just feels different, and right now it feels different for me, so I’m writing it out here to keep me accountable to the interwebs.

On the upside, I weigh about the same as I did 7 years ago, but I’m a much more fit version of myself at that weight. I ran 6.2 miles yesterday morning in an hour just to prove to myself I could (whohoo!), and I actually posted a picture of myself in a bikini on Facebook last weekend – probably for the first time ever – just because I wanted to keep it real and because I don’t actually hate my body right now. PiYo and 21 Day Fix workouts have truly made me a fitter, leaner, stronger version of myself, and I am totally proud of that and excited to get back to coaching & inspiring my Beachbody customers. Last time I let my weight creep up to the 169# range, I was not working out at all and at 37.6% body fat. Today I was at 33.2% – which is still much too high, but it at least shows I’m moving in the right direction with the old muscle vs. fat ratio!

Honestly, Beachbody has great nutrition programs to follow, but I’ve been spotty at best at sticking to anything, and it shows. As has been said a million times before, you can’t outwork a crappy diet. You just can’t. I’m living proof of that. I eat pretty well, but I haven’t been watching my portions, and the beer calories add up as usual, so sadly I’ll have to monitor all of that to be a success at this, and it time!

So… here’s the plan. 🙂

17 weeks from now…

…is my consult with the plastic surgeon regarding a possible breast augmentation and/or lift. They really want patients to be at or close to their goal weights for this procedure, and I want to fit that profile. That gives me 17 weeks to lose 20 pounds. TOTALLY doable as a lifestyle change.

30 weeks from now…

…is my sister’s wedding (and my 35th birthday). That will give me 3 more months to keep focusing on toning, reducing my body fat percentage, and keeping a lifestyle change going through the holidays so that I can hit my 35th birthday feeling fantastic and proud about myself and my health.

I want to be a solid 149# and 24% body fat on my 35th birthday. That is a very healthy weight on my 5’8″ frame, and I believe that I can do this and that I will do this.

Who else has big goals they want to hit in the next year?! Let’s do this together!

  1. I don’t look like that in a bikini! My celulite ass messes it all up. I don’t even try wearing bikini bottoms… Not worth the agony.

    😉

My goals are to stay where I am, which is hard to do. Any major screw up takes a long time to correct. I’m 2 pounds above my weekly target weight, which is better than 2 days ago (6 pounds up!!!), but still makes me mad. I’ve been slacking with food and lifting though…. It’s my fault! I also want to increase my endurance/pace for a half in the fall. That’s totally doable as long as I keep on this tremendous running plan every 6 weeks and keep trying harder each time.

It feels weird to not have a weight loss goal, but it also feels good. For now. 😉

I’ve seen photos of you on your fitness blog, and I think you look fabulous. 🙂

I think maintenance can be harder than weight loss. It’s easier to be working toward some goal than to be working to maintain the status quo.

      1. Thank you! But you’ve also seen the bumpy ass that I have. HA! Yes, maintenance is hard work. And I think it’s sort of scary.

        1. I want your abs woman!!

Good for you! It’s not about how many times you fall down, but how many you pick yourself back up and move forward.

I look forward to reading about your progress. Maybe you will inspire me. 🙂

P.S. I don’t think you look like you need to lose 20#.

      1. Thanks hon 🙂 It’s a good angle though, and I’m definitely feeling very heavy and chubby right now and other angles show that more. I feel healthy & great when I’m a fit size 8, and right now I’m squeezing into 12s. You have to lose about 10# to drop a dress size, so I figure I’ll feel great in 8s by the time this process is done!

  3. First off, you look great in your oic! And congrats on the 6 miles!!!!

I made a change over 2015 and went from 155 to 135. Then the furst 6 months of this year i got to 127.

I want to maintain that and and get my IT Band (leg and knee issues) into place and get back to running. It has beem 6 weeks of rest. So frustrating bc i just finished a mini and was so where i wanted to be.

Not in a creepy way but i hope you post a lot about your consult and orocess if you do have surgery, i am so on the fence about it (so much $$ and ick to the pain).

Good luck, i know you cam do it!

  4. For what it’s worth I think you look great and are doing well. You couldn’t run that far if you weren’t fit. But, like you I’ve had 3kgs creep on despite being the fittest I’ve been in years and it’s food and booze. I’ve being doing a lakes five day program but stumbled and had wine tonight. Kick the booze and the weight will drop🍷🎉😩

    1. I believe this too. Cutting alcohol to basically a half glass of wine daily has been huge for me, and I want a big drinker tho begin with. I had 2 beers this past weekend and they messed everything up!

      1. Wasn’t a big drinker to begin with…

        1. I’m not a BIG drinker but I had two months of a lot of drinking and socializing and it’s impacted me! Plus getting older does make it harder to shift. Oh and it’s winter and fecking cold

      2. I know you’re not! I’m just saying that for me, who rarely drinks, cutting the alcohol made a HUGE difference.

I wish Brian didn’t want wine every night. If we’d cut that, I’d drop a couple of pounds.

        1. Meh, I don’t want a life where I can’t have any alcohol just to be skinny. To each their own. 🙂

    2. Ha, I’ve known that for years. It’s why I’m at my fittest while pregnant!

You look fantastic. I could use 20lbs in my tummy. That’s possible, right? 😉

      Lose, LOL. Not use

      1. Haha, I figured!

  6. You look fantastic!!! I want to have big goals and lose 15 lbs this summer (gained a ton while weaning recently) which will take me back to where I was after Alidia was about a year old, so totally doable for me but only if I am motivated. I need to get there. I, like you, refuse to drop the booze completely though so it has to be food changes (the big one!) and more exercise. It’s sooo hard though. Uggg. But I totally believe that you have got this and will hit your goals!! I am excited to follow along! And I am jealous about the possible breast lift (zero desire for augmentation for me as I am just trying to get them down a size, but would like a lift!) so looking forward to hearing more about that too.

  7. I think you look great! My goal would be to start working out and actually sticking with it. I am so inspired by all of you ladies who are kicking ass in the fitness department! I need some motivation so I actually get my butt up and do something.

    1. I’m going to run a small (5-6 people) 21 day fix challenge group in July if you’re interested in joining!

Hmmm…. I might be interested in the 21 day fix challenge. I have the program already and have been tossing around the idea of doing it before our family trip to Colorado in the end of July. Now that I know the FET cycle I was supposed to be doing will be postponed, I have the freedom to keep working out after all. Let me know if there are details?

        1. That’d be awesome! I’ll email you some information this morning!

      2. I’ll go ahead and say yes! I didn’t stick to it last time – day 3 I was so freaking sore and gave up. Maybe this time I’ll make it further. 😉
