Day 30, #NaBloPoMo – Final Thoughts

I just blogged for 30 days in a row for the first time in 7.5 years. It feels good to be back in the habit of writing in this space. Now I need to work on commenting on YOUR blogs more. I’ve missed y’all so much.

9 years ago today my husband and I got engaged, yet sometimes I wonder how engaged either of us feel in this relationship anymore. Marriage is hard, yo.

I ordered Christmas cards today because I love them so. Fake it till you make it, right?

A major decision was made at my work today that drastically affects my job moving forward. I’m more than a little nervous about this, but I’m also glad that a decision was finally made.

I hate that so many people are already complacent about our new president-elect. He continually shows his true character, and it’s terrifying, and yet some people still say to give him a chance. WTF?

My Mom got great news from her doc this week – no cancer in any of the 13 adrenal glands they removed. This means instead of a 10% rate of survival after 5 years, she now has a 40-50% chance of this being gone forever! She’ll still have scans every 3 months for a couple of years so that if anything recurred they could jump on it, but we are so thankful that this seems to be best case scenario at this point. So many prayers that this continues. xoxo

Good habits are so hard to make, and bad habits so easy to fall into. I’m working on it.

I love Wednesday nights during Survivor season because it means my brother always comes over for dinner and hangs out with us and the kids. Family is so important.

That’s all. Peace out. I’ll try not to disappear from this space again. 🙂

  1. I want to get back to writing posts like this. Just saying it, whatever it is. That’s where the real stuff comes out and what you’ll appreciate reading navy later. ❤️

    1. Wtf I have no idea where the word “navy” came from in there 😂

  2. Such good news about your mom! I have really enjoyed reading your posts these past 30 days. Almost makes me want to start posting on my own blog again. Almost.

    1. I’ve enjoyed it way more than I thought I would!

I have looked forward to reading your posts each day. It made me realize how much a miss your blog. It has always been a favorite. 😊

  4. It was so nice to read your words every day. Thank you for participating!

  5. Although I’m relieved the month is over, I’m sad too. It’s been so great to have yours and the others who participated posts to look forward to each day. Let’s keep up the frequent writing. I’ll be “faking” cards this year too (if I even get around to doing them)

    1. LOL, I love the honesty.

  6. You wouldn’t think blogging something every day would be hard, but it IS (or, can be). I had so many days I didn’t feel like posting, but now it’s done and I see that I’ve posted every single day, I feel so proud. It’s such an accomplishment! I got so excited when I found out you were participating in NaBloPoMo too, like others have said, I love your blog and it’s been so great reading it every day 🙂

I’m constantly wondering about how engaged my husband and I are in our relationship. Things definitely aren’t where I want them to be, or hoped they’d be. Every time I feel like we’re making progress, something stupid happens and we take 10 steps back. I’m sending out cards of our smiling faces, but it doesn’t seem real or honest.

I’m so happy your mom got such good news!

    1. Thank you for sharing your engagement experience… always helps to not feel alone, though I wish neither of us were feeling like this! It’s been fun reading all of your posts, too!

  7. Yay yay yay about your mom!!!

And I’m jealous your brother is so close to have that weekday tradition. Love it.

  8. Super yay about your Mom. I’ve been praying for her AND your family!

    1. Thanks hon!
