I’m FEELING It

As my first post of 2017, I figure it’s only appropriate that it’s all about a new year, new goals, a fresh start…whatever you want to call it. I’m FEELING it in my soul, and I’ve been feeling it for a couple of weeks, which makes me happy. I’ll expound on my goals and such more later this week, but therapy is helping me crawl out of the hole I was in, and it’s like I can actually motivate to get out of bed in the morning for the first time in months.

Last week we went to Minnesota for a quick trip to see my family. Originally my husband had refused to go. Between work commitments and marriage troubles, he was out. Three days before we were supposed to leave, he changed his mind, hired some extra guys to finish the work that needed to get done while we’d be gone, and I booked him a last minute ticket to join us. I truly don’t think he understands how much that meant to me. Our entire family was together, and even though we’ll all be together again in 2.5 weeks for my sister’s wedding, it was different to have this chill time at my parents’ house together.

img_5085We spent most of the days at my parents’ place alternating between workouts (I did daily workouts while on vacation – who hoo!), card games (buck euchre), beers (many beers), and games of Trivial Pursuit (but the old school one from our childhood). It was perfect!

Saturday night (NYE) was our cousin’s wedding, and it was fun to all get dressed up and celebrate together. Here’s a quick sibling photo we took before the dinner started. I literally cannot imagine life without these 4 in it. <3

Travel went pretty smoothly with the kids both there and back. We fly to Ohio for my sister’s wedding later this month, and then fingers crossed they are all set for Spain in February. I’m so grateful my kids get the opportunity to travel as much as they do! Thank God for air miles. 😉

Yesterday was a paid holiday for me, so I was home with the kids while C was at work. I spent the day doing workouts (elliptical & 21 Day Fix Extreme), prepping healthy food for the week, doing laundry, and getting caught up on book work for our company. It was definitely nice to have a day like that before jumping back into work today.

So there ya go, my last week in a nut shell! How was everyone else’s holiday weekend? How are you feeling heading into this near year? Bring it on, 2017!

  1. I love euchre! Ben and I play it whenever we can find a couple to play with us – not very many people in KY know what euchre is. And I have yet to find someone here that knows pinnacle. I don’t know what buck euchre is but I am sure it is great. I am glad you are coming out of the funk and Charlie went with you. It is weird how small things like that mean the most.

    1. We usually just call it buck, but others call it buck euchre or just euchre. All similar with a few variances in rules is what we’ve found. Love that game!

  2. Nice that you had such a great trip and are feeling better!

Ah, euchre brings back memories. I’d have absolutely no idea how to play it now, but my grandpa, from the Midwest, taught us all decades ago. I did annnnnnnything to get to hang out with the grown-ups and not have to “go play with the kids.” So, I learned 🙂

I’m so happy C decided to go with you. I don’t think that’s a little thing at all. Glad to hear things are improving.

I was going to ask if you kept up on your non-cheap version of therapy!
