Memorable Moment Monday – Holiday Weekend Edition

So it has been a long holiday weekend of being on the go, but it has been really fun for sure. Friday night we just chilled at the house, and I got to Skype with Ann  (my oldest bloggie friend) for 1.5 hours. I’ve missed you, girl!! I’m trying to figure out how to swing a quick family trip to St. Louis this fall to visit her and to introduce Stella to Charlie’s extended family that all lives out there. In a perfect world, the Cards will be in the playoffs in October and we could even catch a game. We shall see. 🙂

On Saturday, we took Stella out to a BBQ/party that went all afternoon and into the evening. Our friends here have a daughter who is 12 days older than Stella, and the husband’s parents have a great property about five minutes outside of town. It has a GORGEOUS lush lawn (rare in our part of CO!) and stellar views. It was an awesome party!

Actually crawling on the grass since it wasn’t burnt to a crisp like our yard!

On Sunday, we headed to the Labor Day weekend rodeo here in town. It’s a PRCA rodeo, so there are lots of great competitions, plus they do some local events as well. It was a little rough because Stella only got a 30 minute quick nap in, but it was really fun.

Dressed in her Osh Kosh B’Gosh dress at the rodeo. 🙂

Then last night, we brought Stella up to Charlie’s parent’s house (they live about 10-15 minutes away from us) and we came back into town to tear it up during our first night out on the town without a baby. Not gonna lie, I had my sad moments, but we successfully got pretty drunk, talked to a ton of people, got in a couple slow dances to the live band, and stumbled our way home.

Out 1st night out on the town without the baby!

It was great fun, and Stella did great at her grandparent’s house. She woke up once at midnight, so they gave her a 2oz bottle, and after a little battle to get her back to sleep, she slept straight through until 7:30am! I woke up at 5am painfully engorged, so I drunk pump&dumped, then went back to sleep until 9am!! At nine I had to get up to pump&dump again (yes, I was that drunk the night before – ouch), and then Charlie and I went out for a delicious breakfast together. Charlie’s Mom brought Stella home at 11:30 after her morning nap (2+ hrs!), and seeing the smile that lit up her face when she saw me…. *Heart Melted* Oh my gosh, it was awesome.

Today we just laid around the house all afternoon relaxing, and we stopped by another friend’s surprise birthday part this evening before coming back home and putting Stella to bed. Now we’re watching The Bachelor Pad while I write up this post. Quite the successful weekend. 🙂
