The Curl Down

Advertisements

I’ve always prided myself on the fact that I can shower, get dressed, do hair & makeup, and be out the door in 20 minutes flat. I never said I looked GOOD doing it that way, but that was my routine because I adore sleeping in and it was always much more important to me than a long, hot shower and cute hair and makeup.

That all changed for me last week when Amy over at Chapters posted a vlog about the “curl down” method of curling your hair.

Um, yeah, did I mention that I’m 28 and that I apparently have NEVER KNOWN how to properly curl my hair?

I knew how to “tip the ends under” and I can flat iron like a pro, but I have always been jealous of those girls with the long, wavy locks. I have super fine hair (and it’s not that thick either) and I was convinced that my hair just couldn’t do that.

However, I stand corrected. And addicted. And obsessed. I’ve curled my hair more in the last week than I have in the two years since our wedding…perhaps for the first times SINCE our wedding 2 years ago, and I don’t really count that b/c the hairstylist did it!

To be honest, if I spray the SHIT out of it with hairspray, it will always still lose the majority of the curl, BUT, I still can’t get enough of it. I curled it to go to work last week…
I curled it to go to the rooftop bar for drinks with my girlfriend…
I curled it for our housewarming party last weekend…
I curled it today for work JUST BECAUSE (???!!)…

HELP!!!! I’m going to become one of those girls that takes HOURS to get ready in the morning (or at least an extra 15 minutes), and I don’t know if I can stand it!!

But then again, if somebody could only give me a lesson in makeup application, I’d be all grown up and shit…
