The Monday Snapshot – Hanging in There Ed.

As I mentioned in my post last Thursday, this pregnancy has been kicking my ass. Unfortunately, I’m not the only one in the house who has been feeling under the weather. Last Tuesday I had some daycare issues (SEVEN people couldn’t watch Stella!) so I decided it was the universe’s way of telling me to take the day off and stay home with her.

Shortly after that, she puked on me.

The poor thing – she just looked at me in shock and kind of laughed when I gagged! We spent the rest of the day just chilling on the couch, watching TV, and feeling generally miserable together.

That night we headed to our meeting with the homebirth midwife and his wife (more about that later, but it was an awesome meeting!), and as we pulled into their driveway, Stella puked all over herself in the car seat. SO gross. Again, cue the gagging on my part, as Stella pitifully repeated “ewwww ewwww ewwww” to herself.

When we got home for a late dinner a couple of hours later, Stella did her 3rd and final puke in the high chair. DAMN that shit is gross, especially when you’re already operating in a constant state of nausea.

So yeah, it was an interesting day in our household. Thank goodness she slept great that night (I was petrified of her puking in her crib in the middle of the night), and seemed to be doing much better by the next day.

As of Thursday, I’m the one who has been actually puking all day, but honestly, that is infinitely better than watching your baby be sick. 🙁
