28 Weeks

Oops – it’s been 3 weeks since my last pregnancy update post. I was so good about doing these weekly updates with Stella, but this time around it seems like time just gets away from me. At any rate, I am officially in the 3rd trimester now, no matter how you count it!

I don’t always post them here, but I have been pretty good about keeping up with my photo series this time around. It’s in the drop down list above if you ever want to check it out. I know some people hate belly pics, and some (like me) love them, so there ya go. 🙂 I also took a quick belly shot this morning right after I rolled out of bed (seriously, I had just gotten up, peed, stepped on the scale, and I took this pic – please excuse the bed head) to commemorate getting to this point. I have really fond memories of 28 weeks because this was the day I woke up to an outpouring of love from my blog friends last time (they threw me a virtual baby shower). I love you ladies.

I’ve definitely hit the point of pregnancy where it’s all feeling very “real.” I routinely bump my belly into Stella’s door frame when I’m sneaking out & shutting the door at night (oops, sorry little man!) because I forget how big I’m getting, and the heartburn is getting pretty intense.

It’s been fun to see my belly moving from time to time, and the punches, kicks, and thumps are getting pretty strong as well. I know I could have this baby anytime from mid-Dec to mid-Jan, but I had Stella at 38w on the nose, so it’s kinda stuck in my head that I could have a baby in my arms in 10 short weeks. Holy crap!

I weighed 176# this morning, which means I’m up 15# – just 1# more than I was with Stella at this point. I lost weight 1st tri this time around, but I gained weight more quickly during 2nd tri, so I’m all evened out at this point. Eek! Hopefully I can keep it in a reasonable range for these last three month. My FitBit friends are putting me TO SHAME with their step counts. I’m #14 of 16 right now, and the 2 friends that are literally full term pregnant have daily averages of 9,000-11,000+ steps per day. My average is not quite 5,000. Sheesh! Thankfully my eating habits have been good, but I really need to up the exercise ante to make sure I’m good and strong for delivery this time around again. I was so fit last time, and I don’t want to regret sitting on my butt this time! I can do this. 🙂
