WWW – The 20# Plan

169#

HFS. I’ve hit and have been hanging out at my line in the sand.

My very first blog post here was written & posted in November of 2009, and I wrote about being up to 170# (the highest weight of my non-pregnant life, those are the big peaks above) and being freaked out about that.

Well. Hahahahaha.

Nearly 7 years and 2 kids later, I’ve successfully let myself get back up to that point after getting down as low as 151# in June of 2010.

Here’s the thing – last time I truly dedicated myself to this, in 6 months I was down 20# after a true lifestyle change, and I was feeling awesome about myself.

It’s time to do that again. I know I know, you’ve seen me write this off and on over the years, but sometimes it just feels different, and right now it feels different for me, so I’m writing it out here to keep me accountable to the interwebs.

On the upside, I weigh about the same as I did 7 years ago, but I’m a much more fit version of myself at that weight. I ran 6.2 miles yesterday morning in an hour just to prove to myself I could (whohoo!), and I actually posted a picture of myself in a bikini on Facebook last weekend – probably for the first time ever – just because I wanted to keep it real and because I don’t actually hate my body right now. PiYo and 21 Day Fix workouts have truly made me a fitter, leaner, stronger version of myself, and I am totally proud of that and excited to get back to coaching & inspiring my Beachbody customers. Last time I let my weight creep up to the 169# range, I was not working out at all and at 37.6% body fat. Today I was at 33.2% – which is still much too high, but it at least shows I’m moving in the right direction with the old muscle vs. fat ratio!

Honestly, Beachbody has great nutrition programs to follow, but I’ve been spotty at best at sticking to anything, and it shows. As has been said a million times before, you can’t outwork a crappy diet. You just can’t. I’m living proof of that. I eat pretty well, but I haven’t been watching my portions, and the beer calories add up as usual, so sadly I’ll have to monitor all of that to be a success at this, and it time!

So… here’s the plan. 🙂

17 weeks from now…

…is my consult with the plastic surgeon regarding a possible breast augmentation and/or lift. They really want patients to be at or close to their goal weights for this procedure, and I want to fit that profile. That gives me 17 weeks to lose 20 pounds. TOTALLY doable as a lifestyle change.

30 weeks from now…

…is my sister’s wedding (and my 35th birthday). That will give me 3 more months to keep focusing on toning, reducing my body fat percentage, and keeping a lifestyle change going through the holidays so that I can hit my 35th birthday feeling fantastic and proud about myself and my health.

I want to be a solid 149# and 24% body fat on my 35th birthday. That is a very healthy weight on my 5’8″ frame, and I believe that I can do this and that I will do this.

Who else has big goals they want to hit in the next year?! Let’s do this together!
