Stella Times…Week 13

My Darling Daughter,

You are 13 weeks old today – and because of the way the dates have aligned, you are also exactly three months old. THREE MONTHS! Holy crap, where has the time gone?

After a rough week of sleep (you’ve been waking up to eat every two hours for some reason), you slept almost through the night last night. Wow. You were out from 9pm-4am, then up for a quick nursing, then back to sleep. I didn’t actually sleep all that well, because I kept waking up wondering when you were going to eat and if you were okay. Oops. 🙂 I’ve just gotten so used to THIS wide awake little girl grinning up at me in the middle of the night.

Momma has been busy this week trying to get organized for our first trip together. Luckily you love the moby wrap, so we’ve been practicing face in, face out, and breastfeeding holds so that we’re old pros in the airport.

It’s definitely still winter here in Colorado, but I’m trying to get out and about with you in the stroller whenever I can. I think the fresh air does us both good! On the day I took this picture, we walked over to your Mommy & Daddy’s old neighbor’s house to visit their brand new twin girls and bring some food. I’m sure we’ll be getting together for play dates soon! Ruby & Fay were 6#2oz and 6#5oz at birth – not bad for twins, eh? Since you easily DOUBLE that now though, they looked incredibly teeny tiny to me! You are growing up so quickly, honey. Remember the picture of you coming home from the hospital in this outfit? It swallowed you up back then!

This week you got your first bruise. I was trying to get a picture of it, but I didn’t remember until the next day when it had already started fading and you kept making the funniest faces, so I totally got distracted by your cuteness. It was on your right temple/forehead area from headbutting your daycare lady right into her eyeglasses. Oops. She said you cried pretty hard – this is only the first of many bumps and bruises that you’ll get, I’m sure.

You like the bumbo seat for short periods of time so far. Just before I snapped this, you were grinning and Chief was actually sniffing you. It was pretty darn cute. Usually he still pretends you don’t exist. 😉

Pretty much all of your naps take place in the swing and not in a darkened room like the books recommend. Oops. I like having you close, though! Here you are all wrapped up in the blanket that my Grandma Marian made for me. It’s super soft, and you always sleep well in it. 🙂

If you’re not sleeping in the swing, you’re usually in my arms. The other day I needed to jump in the shower, so I set you on the couch with your Dad while I ran upstairs. These are the pictures he took of you – he loved that you had your knee up and were just chillin’ in your sleep like an adult.

You are always the happiest girl in the morning when your Daddy gets you up before work. That smile just melts our hearts, every single time. 🙂

Love you so much Stells Bells,
Mommy
